This is a highly regarded .357 Magnum L-frame revolver produced around 1997, featuring a durable stainless steel construction, significant engineering updates from earlier models. It is designed for durability with a full underlug, this is the 6 ‘’ barrel version. The 686-5 is often sought after for its reliability and, in some cases, for lacking the later, more intrusive internal locks found in the -6 version, although the -5 did introduce some of these security changes.
